Despite all the web traffic analysis to the contrary, people keep telling me they really do want to see pictures of my miniature work. I’ll take them at their word and share a variety of recent work, mostly along Weird War lines.

First and most recent is this 3D printed Kelpie (a demonic, transforming water horse) that I intend to use as a mount for my Confederate officer in my weird WWI games, like A War Transformed. The mini was sculpted by Warp Miniatures and printed in resin. As you can see I tried to do something a little more interesting than usual with the base, though I’m not totally happy with the look of the water.

Next, I have the first of my official Silver Bayonet miniatures I’ve painted. This is a rifleman and an infantryman from the first Russian box set. I’ve painted them as jagers from the 1809-1812 period. These are metal miniatures produced by North Star Military Figures.

Clearing out some low-hanging fruit, I also expanded my interwar/early-war US Navy landing party. These are pewter minis from Pulp Figures:

And after something close to 30 years and having lost most of the original minis, I painted this Orlock ganger from the original Necromunda box set. This is a monopose, but multi-weapon option, plastic piece from GW:

Speaking of GW, have you seen my Skinks? These were probably from the Warhammer Fantasy Battle 5th edition box set, and gifted to me by a wargaming friend. Originally these were a lot brighter but I went too heavy with the oil wash and I regret it. Oh well, good enough.

And here are some more Wargames Atlantic halflings along with a Standard Miniatures dwarf that I got in that 40lb box of 15mm Napoleonics.

If you’re curious what he looked like in the box, here you go:

Ah, the good old days!

I’d love to hear what you’re working on. And maybe I’ll see you at Historicon this weekend!

  1. I wish I could go to Historicon. One day, when the kids are older.

That kelpie looks amazing. I really like that sea green water look.

I just keep working on my Silver Bayonet forces, and am about to paint a Skeleton Mariachi band for my daughter’s bday. She loves those movies, Coco, and Book of the Dead or whatever they are called, and by who ever made them.
